Le Morne Bradant

The Morne Brabant is unique, and is part of the island's history as a place of freedom. A symbol of marronnage, the steep slopes of the Morne mountain served as a refuge for slaves fleeing enslavement. The mountain was declared a World Heritage Site on July 6, 2008. It is also a mythical place for Mauritians, symbolizing freedom.

The 'Republic of Chestnuts' is also home to endemic species, plant species that only grow here. Closeness to nature is deeply rooted in our culture, and we strive to perpetuate these values.

The Haras du Morne contributes to the social development of the Village du Morne by providing numerous jobs. What's more, every Saturday morning we give local children the chance to ride with an instructor.

Finding peace

At the foot of Le Morne mountain, the horses watch the parakeets swinging overhead. All is still peaceful, and soon the arrival of the staff, made up of people from Le Morne and the surrounding villages, and the first visitors will signal the start of the beachside strolls.

Founded by a horse lover, the Haras is a haven of peace where horses live peacefully. Relaxation reigns here, whether at the Club House bar or in the stables.

Le Haras du Morne,
‍An
inclusive environment

At Haras du Morne, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive environment where every child, whatever their background, is welcomed with warmth and encouragement. We believe in a future where every child in the village of Le Morne can reach their full potential, and we're honored to be part of that journey.
